Annual Summer Training Conference June 2019-Story in Pics

The 2019 summer training conference was held on June 11th and held at Berkeley College. The topic was “Updates in Rehabilitation: Advocacy, Technology, Employment, and Ethics.’’ The summer training session is also when NRA NY Metro Chapter presents awards to service providers, advocates, as well as to exceptional individuals with disabilities.

NRA Metro NY president, Paula Lee (first from right) presented Tech Kids Unlimited with the Marilyn Miller – Morell Advocacy Awards.
NRA Metro NY Board member Anthony Spinelli (left corner) presented the Media Award to ABC More In Common.
Paula Lee and Anthony Spinelli presented the Employer of Distinction Award to Spectrum Designs Foundation.
Mariella Paulino, Founder, Project Hearing , presented on “Assistive Technology for College Students and Young Professionals”.
Sharon McLennon – Weir, Director of Disability Services at Berkeley College along with Mariella Paulino.
Bruce Bergman, Regional Economists , U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics New York – New Jersey Information Office, presented on 2018 Labor Force Characteristics of Persons with Disabilities.
Paul Ward, Community Coordinator, NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, provided a presentation on “Summer Is Here: Recreation Resources for Individuals with Disabilities”.
Chris Kempski, Transition Coordinator, New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, provided a presentation on Ethical Considerations for Distance Counseling and Social Media
